Getting a Job or Volunteering

Occupational therapists can:

- Teach clients how to look for jobs in the newspaper and at the local library or various job board postings
- Introduce them to various services that provide employment assistance

- Help them set goals and achieve skills required to find employment in Canada

- Assist in arranging volunteer opportunities for interested clients

Changing Together

Description: Free help for immigrant women through non-therapeutic counseling, provided information on finances, legal / immigration issues, finding options and safety during abusive situations, drop-in support group for abused women. (Volunteer interpreters available)

Provides: 
 - Translation and interpretation of documents (diploma / degree certificates, birth/marriage/death/divorce certificates, professional accreditation): Free for clients who have been in Canada for less than a year, fee for those over
 - ESL and Citizenship Classes: basic literary, ESL, health and wellness, community and support, outreach basic survival English program
