Housing and Settlement

Here are some resources to help with immigrant housing and/or settlement issues:

At Edmonton Immigrant Services Association, the In School Settlement Support Program will help newcomer students and their families with their settlement needs to foster student achievement within the community

The Settlement Counseling and Support Program can also be accessed at the Mennonite Centre for Newcomers (assistance with finding housing, filling forms, housing for refugees Trinity Manor program, etc)

The Edmonton Newcomer's Guide offers relevant information on various services including housing and is available in English, Arabic, Chinese, French, Hindi, Spanish, Vietnamese

Settlement information can be found for South Edmonton residents at the Welcome Centre for Immigrants (WCI), contact information can be found here

Capital Region Housing Coorporation
provides information on accomodations for low-income families in Edmonton as well as information on rent-subsidy programs available

The Government of Alberta Seriors and Community Supports program discusses options for housing for low-income families, senior citizens, wheelchair users and/or individuals who are unable to afford housing

The Government of Alberta has a program for families needing more support-  find out more about the Homeless and Eviction Preventing Fund

The Home Program provides information and support around counseling for moderate income families interested in owing homes
