This is a basic list of programs provided by the City of Edmonton. There are plenty of other activities that your clients may be interested in. Explore the City of Edmonton website to find out more!
Occupational therapists can:
- Inform clients of various leisure attractions and recreation services around the city
- Introduce clients to various activities in order to promote health and general well-being
Access to Leisure Programs
Leisure Access Program (for low-income clients)
- Read the Brochure
- Look at the Site
- Fill out the application
Offers:
- Unlimited and free admission to several facilities (Leisure Centres, Rec Centres, Sport Centres)
- Subsidized programs for adults, seniors, children and youth
For those on:
- AISH / Income Support
- Child Health Benefits Card
- Treaty Status and on AISH
- Alberta Children’s Treatment Services card (applying for children/youth in a group home)
- For those with no Health Benefits Card, but are below the low-income cut-off line
- Immigrants to Canada within the year
